About US

The Dorota Stalińska Foundation “NADZIEJA” is a Polish non-profit organization founded by the renowned actress, social activist, and humanitarian Dorota Stalińska, whose personal commitment to justice, human dignity, and emotional healing led to the creation of a safe haven for those in need. Established in response to the growing crisis of domestic violence, trauma, and social exclusion in Poland, our foundation has worked tirelessly for over 20 years to provide practical help and lasting change to those who have suffered in silence.

At its core, “NADZIEJA” (Hope) is not just a name — it is our mission, our message, and our promise. We exist to restore hope where it has been lost, to offer compassion where there has been cruelty, and to fight for dignity where injustice has taken root.

Our Founder: Dorota Stalińska

Dorota Stalińska is not only one of Poland’s most celebrated actresses, but also a passionate advocate for the rights of the vulnerable. Her own experiences, combined with years of activism, gave rise to a foundation that blends art, empathy, and action. Her voice has been a powerful force in Polish society — challenging taboos, raising awareness, and initiating open dialogue around issues such as violence against women, child abuse, trauma recovery, and mental health.

Through the Foundation “NADZIEJA,” Dorota Stalińska has created a legacy of service that inspires both local communities and national change.

  • Women and children escaping unsafe environments

  • Youth struggling with emotional instability or crisis

  • Survivors of social exclusion, neglect, or long-term suffering

  • Anyone in need of emotional rehabilitation, legal support, or psychological counseling

  • Dignity – Every individual deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of their past or circumstances.

  • Justice – We challenge systems that allow violence or discrimination to go unchecked.

Through our foundation, we offer:

  • Therapeutic programs for survivors of trauma

  • Educational campaigns to prevent violence and promote emotional intelligence

  • Workshops and seminars on mental health, self-defense, and legal rights

  • Legal aid for individuals facing injustice or abuse

  • Public initiatives to raise awareness about often-ignored societal issues

  • Collaboration with schools, social services, and government agencies to expand the reach and depth of our impact

We believe that real change begins at the individual level — but must be supported by collective awareness, advocacy, and policy reform.

A Movement for Humanity

“NADZIEJA” is not just a foundation — it is a call to action. It is a voice for the voiceless. It is a space where wounds are acknowledged, not hidden; where struggles are not judged, but embraced; and where healing is possible, together.

As we continue our journey, we invite individuals, organizations, and partners across Poland and beyond to stand with us. Whether through collaboration, volunteerism, donations, or spreading awareness — your involvement helps us create a safer, more compassionate world.

Together, we are restoring hope.

Mission

At FUNDACJA DOROTY STALIŃSKIEJ “NADZIEJA”, our mission is clear and unwavering:

To restore hope, dignity, and safety to those who have suffered from violence, trauma, social exclusion, and injustice — by providing compassionate care, legal and emotional support, and long-term pathways to healing and empowerment.

We believe that no human being should live in fear, silence, or shame. Every individual — regardless of their past, gender, age, or social background — deserves to be seen, heard, and supported. Through our foundation, we aim to transform individual suffering into collective strength, silence into advocacy, and trauma into resilience.

What We Stand For

  • 🛑 Ending Violence in All Forms
We are dedicated to combatting domestic violence, emotional abuse, neglect, and systemic oppression. Through intervention, education, and reform, we challenge the culture of silence and create safer environments — especially for women, children, and families in crisis.

  • ❤️ Healing the Invisible Wounds
We recognize that psychological trauma can be as damaging as physical wounds. Our foundation offers access to mental health services, psychological counseling, support groups, and emotional recovery programs that nurture long-term healing and personal strength.

  • ⚖️ Defending the Vulnerable
We provide legal advocacy, guidance, and assistance to victims of abuse and injustice — helping them navigate the systems that often fail them, and fighting for their rights with determination and integrity.

  • 📚 Educating for Prevention
True change begins with knowledge. We conduct workshops, public campaigns, and school programs to raise awareness around violence prevention, emotional literacy, human rights, and the importance of empathy in society.

  • 🤝 Creating Bridges, Not Walls
We collaborate with local communities, government institutions, healthcare providers, schools, and other non-profits to extend our impact. Together, we build networks of care that reach those who are often forgotten or ignored.

A Mission Rooted in Hope

We understand that trauma does not end when violence stops — healing is a journey. Through every service we offer, every voice we amplify, and every life we touch, our foundation stands as a beacon of hope — a space where pain is transformed into purpose.

Our mission is to never let suffering go unseen.
To never let injustice go unchallenged.
To never let hope die in silence.

What We Do

At FUNDACJA DOROTY STALIŃSKIEJ “NADZIEJA”, we turn compassion into action through a wide range of programs designed to support individuals who are facing or recovering from trauma, violence, and crisis. Our work is built around the belief that every life has value, and that meaningful support — at the right time — can change everything.

We operate through five main pillars of impact:

🧠 1. Psychological Support & Emotional Rehabilitation

We provide comprehensive mental health and emotional support services to survivors of violence, trauma, and crisis. Our team of experienced psychologists, therapists, and crisis counselors help individuals regain a sense of stability, safety, and self-worth.

Our services include:

  • Individual and group therapy sessions

  • Trauma recovery programs

  • Crisis intervention counseling

  • Self-esteem and emotional resilience workshops

  • Peer support circles

⚖️ 2. Legal Aid & Victim Advocacy

Many survivors face legal systems that are complex and intimidating. We support individuals in seeking justice and protection by offering:

  • Free or low-cost legal consultations

  • Assistance with restraining orders and custody matters

  • Legal representation in cases of domestic violence or abuse

  • Advocacy with law enforcement and public institutions

  • Help navigating the Polish judicial system

We fight not only for justice — but for dignity.

📚 3. Education & Awareness Campaigns

We believe that prevention starts with education. That’s why we run public campaigns and educational initiatives focused on:

  • Violence prevention and emotional intelligence

  • Recognizing signs of abuse and how to safely intervene

  • Rights awareness for victims of violence

  • Workshops for students, educators, and parents

  • Public events to break the silence surrounding domestic violence

Our aim is to build a culture of empathy, respect, and accountability.

👨‍👩‍👧 4. Support for Women, Children, and Families in Crisis

We create safe environments for the most vulnerable — especially women and children escaping dangerous or unstable living situations.

We offer:

  • Temporary shelter and emergency housing (in collaboration with partners)

  • Child-focused therapy and play-based healing programs

  • Parenting support and guidance

  • Material aid: clothing, hygiene kits, educational supplies

Because no child should grow up in fear, and no mother should suffer alone.

🤝 5. Community Partnerships & National Advocacy

We extend our reach through strategic partnerships across sectors:

  • Collaborating with schools, hospitals, social services, and law enforcement

  • Contributing to public policy and legal reform discussions

  • Participating in national coalitions for women's rights and victim protection

  • Training frontline professionals to identify and respond to abuse

We are not just a foundation — we are part of a national movement for change.

A Holistic Approach to Healing and Empowerment

Our work does not stop at intervention. We walk with our beneficiaries through the full arc of recovery — from crisis, to healing, to reintegration into society. We believe in long-term impact, personal growth, and creating a life worth living after trauma.

Whether through a warm conversation, expert legal help, or a powerful public campaign, everything we do is guided by one principle:

Hope is not passive. Hope is what we do.
